Hey, everybody. Welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby. And today we're taking a look at the etrailer aluminum cargo carrier on our 2021 Subaru Outback wagon. Now on the Subaru, you know we are getting a decent amount of space in the back here but especially when you start getting some of those longer hauls, you don't want to start taking some of those big, heavy coolers with us. This can be an excellent way of just extending that cargo space and allowing us to get a lot more friends and family in our vehicle. more

What's up everybody, it's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out the etrailer aluminum cargo carrier on our 2014 Subaru Outback. It's gonna be a good solution if you don't have enough space on the inside, when you get some of your stuff out here, give everybody more legroom, making everybody happier on those longer trips. Or if you have muddy gear, dirty gear, sandy gear, you can all store it out here. That way, the mess is out here and never goes inside your vehicle. etrailer Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon

Zack: Hi everybody, Zack here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the etrailer aluminum cargo carrier on a 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon. This is going to be an excellent way to give you some extra storage capacity in our Outback. This is going to give us a 500 pound load limit when it comes to stacking stuff up on here. Now when it says 500 pounds it doesn't mean you can put 500 pounds directly in one spot, that's evenly distributed, but that is right in line with most of the cargo carriers out there. And with this being made of aluminum, it's extremely lightweight. more

etrailer Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2019 Subaru Forester

Zach: Hey guys, Zach here at etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the etrailer aluminum cargo carrier on our 2019 Subaru Forester. This is going to be a really good cargo carrier if you're looking to free up some room in the back, carry some extra gear, but also you don't want something that's going to weigh a ton, and it's going to be easy to kind of maneuver whenever we're not using it. Now, it's made of aluminum and it's lightweight, so you may think that you're not going to have good capacity. But, this actually has a 500 pound capacity, which is just as high as most of the other steel options that we have, but it's going to save a ton of weight whenever we don't have to use this, and we're tryingq to put it back up in the garage. It has a 60 by 22 outer dimension, but I'm going to give you some dimensions on the inside for the usable space. That's going to measure at 20.5 by 58, just a little over 58. more

Zach: Hey guys, Zach 00:00:01 here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the etrailer Folding and Tilting Cargo Carrier on our 2019 Subaru Forester. This is going to be one of the larger-sized cargo carriers that we offer. It's 24 by 60, and I can give you quick measurements there on what this is going to do on the capacity on the internal dimensions, which, in my opinion, is the most important, and that is going to be . It was right at 60.So this is going to give us that true 60 by 24, not the outer dimensions. The inside ones are going to be five and a half, so that gives us really good capacity there. 500 pounds is what we can carry on this safely. more

This is going to be a really nice lightweight cargo carrier that is going to allow us to free up some space in the back to carry all kinds of gear. It has a really good capacity at 500 pounds, so we're not sacrificing capacity with that really lightweight feel.A lot of the times, those big steel cargo carriers, they have a lot of features like tilting up against the back, but they're really awkward to move. It does have a nice mesh flooring, so if you have wet gear after a bike ride or muddy gear after hanging out down at the river, whatever it may be, it's going to be able to fall through and not just sit there and puddle up and then start rusting over time. more

It's Colin, here at etrailer, and today we have a 2019 Subaru Outback wagon. Now, we've been test-fitting some hitch-mounted accessories to it, and right now we have the etrailer.com Tilting and Folding Cargo Carrier installed. Let's go ahead and take a closer look at some of the features and see how it interacts with our Subaru. Now, with this cargo carrier, basically, its purpose is, it's going to be here for you to mount into your hitch receiver, so you can get any excess cargo or luggage outside of your vehicle and get it stowed on the carrier. So you can create more space on the inside for passengers, just more leg or elbow room, or even times where maybe you have a bunch of muddy gear that you want to be able to take home, but you don't want to get out on the floorboard of your Subaru, you can get it onto your cargo carrier, strap it down, and then, when you get home, you could just spray off the cargo carrier rather than having to clean off your carpet floor mats in your Subaru. We are going to have a 500 pound weight capacity on our cargo carrier right here. So, go ahead and take some measurements for storage space .. On the width, inside rail to inside rail, it's going to be about 60 inches. more

Today on our 2011 Subaru Forester we're doing a test fit of the Curt folding 20x60 cargo carrier. That part number is C18151. Now we already have it secured in there we're using this with 2 inch hitches, that's the only hitch style that it works with and it has a weight capacity of 500 pounds. First thing we're going to do here is take a few measurements starting off with our ground clearance we're going to have about 11 and a quarter inches. Our overall is going to be about 31.5 inches and then our closest point is going to be about 10 and a quarter inches away. Now as for our exhaust the Subaru has dual exhaust on both sides here, then we come about straight out and even with our carrier but it sits about 16.5 inches away. So if you're worried about heat sensitive materials I'd keep those more inside the cargo area. The next thing we'll check is our break over point which is going to be the point at which anything that stacks on our cargo carrier might make contact with our hatch doors. So we're going to have about 27.5 inches. more
